You're all gathered in the Court room. It's supposed to be an announcement of your statuses at Milgram, but something about Es and Jackalope's faces tell you there's something more to this congregation. For now, you look up at the large monitor that had previously played your songs as it turns on again.

After the judgments are publicly displayed, Es addresses the room. Come to think of it, isn't one of you missing from this gathering?

"I'm disappointed in you all. Prisoner 005 is dead, and one of you is to blame. As warden of Milgram, I order you all to find his killer now!"

A shared shock is spread among your faces. Prisoner 005... was Barry. Es has a somber expression as they tip their hat to hide their eyes from you. Finding one of their prisoners murdered must have been a heavy loss. Barry was a dear friend to all of you, for however many minutes you may have known him, so obviously you're all determined to bring this killer of killers to justice. It's what Barry would have wanted.

Barry's body - Barry's body is nowhere to be found.
Barry's armor - Two sets of Barry's armor have been found around the prison in the following areas:
                                   
Barry's Cell - The walls of Barry's cell are painted like a meat cellar. Inside of the chest armor is a meat cleaver.
Storage - "Carrot, costume, chocolate, hat, notebook, pen" is listed on the Storage room's delivery board.
Dining Hall - There is knife, spoon, and cleaver missing from the Dining Hall.
Common Room - There are drawings of horses with fancy haircuts pinned to the walls of the Common Room.

Edda looks confused over the information that was gathered.

"Two sets of armor? How are there two sets of armor? It seems like a full set of armor was found in Cell 007. Is that one in pieces or entirely whole? Es, are you sure your information is accurate?"

She levels a stare at the guard. Stern despite the one eye.

"And it looks like the armor pieces were left largely in everyone's cells. How easy is it for an individual to get access to a cell that isn't their own?"

[Nekomaru]

"I think we can discount not finding Barry's body. I could tell from the moment I saw him..."


"Barry consisted only of a suit of armor to begin with."

A keen insight, L... Though I'm not surprised, given that I came to the same conclusion. However, I am surprised that that's all he has to say... Clearly, he must have already figured out the culprit by now. He's just giving everyone else a chance to fill in the blanks... How sick. It's as if this is some sort of game to him. 

Whatever the case, I have two win conditions of my own...
One, I discover the culprit, and bring them to justice...
Two... I discover the culprit, and covertly assist them... all for the purpose of taking down L.

Yes... This is the sort of opportunity I've been looking for. There's no doubt that under a normal legal system, L would hold an untold advantage over me. But look at everyone here... They haven't a clue of my true identity, save Misa, and I've already secured her cooperation as a close ally. 

Well then... If he wants me to play his Watson, I will gladly oblige. For the sake of my new world...


"That's certainly an interesting assessment, L! It's really like you to draw your eye to the less obvious details, huh? For my part, I've only been able to expand on the truth bullets that are already there. You're a far better detective than I. But I guess that's exactly what you'd expect, huh?"

"Now, if Barry was inhabiting one of those suits of armor, then that obviously serves as the vessel to which his soul was bound. In essence, one of those suits of armor is Barry. Or was... What a grim thought. In any case, it's extremely unlikely that he could wear the second set of armor himself. If it's the same size, there would just be no way for him to put the armor, well, inside the armor."


"I suppose ultimately what I'm trying to say is, at one point during the night, there was an impostor among us."

[Ktoasty]

"Prisoner 010, the armor found in Cell 007 are relatively in one piece. I can guarantee that."

"As for cell access, all prisoners' cells are open to access by anyone. There is no locking system in place."

[Vaellin the Bard]

"Interesting. That still doesn't explain how or why there are two armor sets, nor which is actually Barry. How does one kill a suit of armor?"

She frowns in disappointment. "Assuming I buy those two's argument about there being no body. That sounds awful if so. Useless."

[Nekomaru]

"Well... we can get to that later, I suppose. Why don't we start by going through everyone's alibis? That should give us a nice start."

[Hansbulla]

"It appears an entire set of armor has been placed in my cell. How strange! Well, I did toss the piece from the other set into the panopticon. I suppose the butcher of butchers, whoever they may be, was responsible for scattering them."

Hello everyone, I didn't see anything!

[Misaki]

"I've actually seen Barry during my A2! While wandering the Panopticon, I saw Barry inside his cell and he was holding and passionately kissing a cleaver! This must be the same cleaver found inside the chest armor in his cell!"

"He must have been out when I looked in his cell earlier. Perhaps our butcher was in the dining hall then?”

An eerie presence fills the room, as well as the sudden urge to be creepy and weird around sharp objects. Speaking of which, there’s a meat cleaver lying in the center of the room. How did that get there? A deep mist permeates the room as the cleaver rises into the air, cutting letters out of the mist. Seems ol’ Barry still has some soul juice left in him.

“HELLO. GOOD JOB ON KILLING ME, EXPERTLY DONE.”

The cleaver shakes up and down, as if it’s laughing, then continues.

“MY ARMOR BODY WORKS LIKE YOUR SQUISHY HUMAN BODIES. ANYTHING THAT WOULD KILL YOU WOULD KILL ME. SO MY ARMOR MUST HAVE BEEN SCATTERED WHILE I WAS DYING OR AFTER I DIED. REMOVING AN ARM OR A LEG MIGHT NOT KILL ME, BUT REMOVING MY HEAD CERTAINLY WOULD.”

The cleaver swings around, mimicking a guillotine.

“I’M NOT SURE IF I BLEED, OR IF I HAD ANYTHING WITH ME. NO MEMORY OF TONIGHT.”

"When was this? He was in the dining hall during the first action. I didnt see what he or Nana, who was similarly there, were doing as Bridgen was chasing our wonderful, delicious looking, chef around." She smiles sweetly, though the smile feels off, a bit too wide and not reaching her one eye.

She turns to Barry with an inquiring look. "Is there a way to replicate this? Perhaps with more... durability and maybe with some more warmth."

"I was poking around in Cell 005 at the same time, then. ((A1)) I suppose I ought to let you in on a little secret... I took the Barry costume from storage right after snooping ((A2)), to celebrate my innocence! That's right, the Barry that the detective and goth knew was me! The real Barry was already in pieces by the time I returned to my cell ((A5)) though, so I couldn't have done it."

"I am confused about something. During A2, when Nana says she saw Barry in his cell, there was music playing that I could hear in the courtyard. Did anyone else hear that or know the source?"

"Also, can I ask exactly WHY you would make a costume of Barry? That seems awfully suspicious, if I'm being honest. Isn't it possible you were using it to try and mask the time of death for Barry?"
